Shillong Lajong suffer a narrow loss against Delhi FC in I-League
Shillong Lajong FC suffered a narrow 3-1 defeat against Delhi FC on December 19 in an I-League match held at Coach Ali Hassan Football Stadium in Mahilpur, Punjab.
Delhi, playing at their new home, got off to a strong start as Vanlalhriatzuala (7’) put them in the lead. Phrangki Buam (34’) equalized for Lajong, but second-half goals from Stephane Binong (54’) and Himanshu Jangra (66’) sealed the win for the hosts. Daniel Goncalves was shown a red card in injury time after a second bookable offence.
With this result, Lajong are currently in 8th position with 6 points from 6 matches.
Lajong’s next match will be against Real Kashmir FC on January 10, 2025, at 7 pm at SSA Stadium, Shillong.
