Shillong Lajong suffered 4-2 defeat against League leaders Chennai City: Hero I- League

SHILLONG: Shillong Lajong FC went down fighting 2-4 against the top of the table side Chennai City FC in their 8th home game of the Hero I-League 2018-19 season. The match was held at the JN Stadium in Shillong today.

The visitors dominate the match right from the first minute and took the lead in the 7^th min through Sandro Rodriguez but KitbokLang Pale netted his first goal of the league in the 23^rd min to close the half at 1-1.

In the beginning of the 2^nd half the visitors saw a lot of the ball but in the 73^rd min through Pedro Manzi’s header gave the visitors the lead. Three minutes later the visitors were able to double their lead in the 81^st min through Nestor Gordillo’s header making the scoreline 3-1. The Lajong boys fought strong and were able to get a goal back soon in the 85^th min through a penalty from Samuel Kynshi. Lajong was fighting hard in search of an equaliser but against the run of play, it was Spaniard Pedro Manzi who made it 2-4 in the 90th minute for the visitors.
