Shops in Iewduh to open 6 times a week
East Khasi Hills District Administration has permitted the opening of shops at Iewduh six times a week from August 30 till further orders.
Essential shops operating from fixed premises are permitted to open 6 times a week i.e from Monday to Saturday.
Non-essential shops operating from fixed premises are permitted to open 5 times a week, on days to be decided by the Incident Commander, Zone-IV and the Syiem of Hima Mylliem.
Hawkers recognized by the Syiem of Hima Mylliem are permitted to operate on rotation basis. Seating arrangements should be made such that prescribed social distancing of 2 metres is strictly maintained.
Iewdielang will open as per the Notification of the Syiem of Hima Mylliem vide No.MS/VI-26/201921/731-33 dated 25.0888.2021, with the number of vendors/ stalls not more than 60 (sixty) per day.
All the above shops/stalls will be regulated by the Syiem of Hima Mylliem in such a way so as to ensure that social distancing norms are adhered to
The following protocols/conditions should be strictly adhered to by all concerned at the market:-
Market/shops should close by 4:00 PM and will remain closed on Sundays
The Syiem of Hima Mylliem will depute adequate police personnel and volunteers to strictly enforce all protocols including physical distancing, mask wearing and hand hygiene.
The Incident Commander, Zone-IV will depute Magistrates and Police Personnel to ensure observance of protocols by all at the market.
The shopkeepers would be responsible for maintaining physical distance between the customers, and avoid crowding at all times.
All shopkeepers and vendors must wear masks properly by covering their nose, mouth and chin parts of the face at all times.
All customers should also wear double mask all the time while purchasing things from the market. They should practice hand-hygiene and physical distancing.
People should not shake hands, come in direct contact or hug each other in greeting.
The Market Committee under the Syiem of Hima Mylliem is authorized to levy fines on shop owners/people who does not adhere to the Covid-19 protocols or spit in open/ public places.
Market Committee must ensure that regular sanitization of the markets are carried out before and after business hours.
Market committees must ensure that customers bring their own bags and avoid the use of plastic bags as much as possible to minimise the chance of spread of the virus, as it lasts longer on smooth and nonporous surfaces in comparison to porous surfaces like cloth.
There should be minimal time spent by the customers at a Shop. More exposure might lead to crossinfections.
Shop owner and hawkers will ensure that no business is conducted on days not permitted.
Symptomatic persons, persons from Containment Zones, senior citizens above the age of 60, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 should not visit the market.
All shopkeepers/vendors/retailers are urged to get vaccinated at the earliest to protect themselves, their families and the public at large, and to prevent need for further restrictions and lockdowns which have a huge cost on people’s livelihoods.
Any person who is not vaccinated is required to get themselves tested on every 10 (ten) days as per directive of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya.
Anyone found not complying to the protocols and rules above, will not be allowed to operate their business any further
