Shops ordered to remain close from 8 PM to 5 AM in Tura town
Continuing with the night curfew in Tura town, the District Magistrate West Garo Hills District on Tuesday added more prohibitions to the prohibitory order issued on Monday night in order to restore law and order after the 24/7 Tura incident.
According to the prohibitory order, assembly/gathering of (five) or more than 5 (five) persons is banned at a place at any time in public spaces or government offices.
Causing obstruction or intimidation to the movement of office vehicles of officers and staff is prohibited.
The order banned moving to any area with the intention of carrying out any kind of protest.
Carrying/concealing on the person of lathis, sticks, stones, missiles, firearms, or any kind of lethal weapons, by any person, group of persons, or organization is strictly prohibited.
Sale of all forms of liquor/alcohol will continue to remain closed on Wednesday.
Sale of fuel to individuals exceeding 10 litres is banned, except for official vehicles of Magistrates, security forces, ambulances and essential services such as Telecommunication.
Sale of petrol or diesel in loose or in jerry cans is prohibited. All fuel pumps will open from Wednesday onwards, operating from 9 AM to 2:00 PM under the scrutiny of security forces.
Opening of shops will be prohibited between 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
Garages and repair shops/workshops shll keep all spare tires inside the shop/workshop.
All the contractors are to remain vigilant and keep the construction materials at the site in a secure location. Any items missing from the construction site are to be reported immediately to the district administration or nearby police station, check post or beat house. Failure to report will lead to strict action against the contractor.
The order will not apply to armed force personnel or para-military personnel and other law-enforcing agencies on lawful duty/deployment.
