Shullai inspects ongoing construction of municipal market, women hostel

Cabinet minister and South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai on Saturday conducted inspection of the ongoing construction of several projects in the constituency.

These include widening, metalling and black topping of PWD road and public footpath from the main entrance of Sankar Dev College, Bishnupur upto Lawsohtun Road Kench’s Trace Shillong sanctioned under PWD SPA State Scheme for Rs 1.43 crore and construction of Municipal Market cum Shopping Complex at Kench’s Trace Road Bishnupur, Shillong sanctioned under Urban Affairs SPA State Scheme for Rs 2.39 crore and Working Women’s Hostel cum Auditorium at Rilbong Shillong sanctioned under Social Welfare SPA Scheme for Rs 4.50 crore.

The minister was accompanied by the the Executive Engineer of PWD Road Shillong Central Division C Kharmudai, Assistant Executive Engineer S Lytep and his official, K Kharumnuid Executive Engineer Urban Affairs, and his official, Joint Director of Social Welfare I Talang and his officials, Ricky Shullai Vice-Chairman MTDC Ltd. Secretary of Srimantha Sankar Dev Cultural Centre S Phukan and its members, Rangbah Shnong of Lumshatsngi Kench’s Trace Shri K. B Nongbri, Secretary V Pamthied and its members Secretary of MCIC Anthony Marwein/ Social Secretary TR Marak and its members.   

Shullai expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all the members of Srimantha Sankardev Cultural Centre for parting off their huge land free of cost for construction of PWD motorable road and also to the Revenue Department for allotting the Revenue Land  free of cost to the Urban Affairs Department for construction of Municipal Market cum Shopping Complex and to the Social Welfare Department for construction of Working Women’s Hostel cum Auditorium and official of various department for preparation of plan estimate and DPR for the said projects and get it sanctioned by the government for the benefit, interest and welfare of the people of the constituency.
