Shylla quit Politics
SHILLONG: Veteran politician and chief of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Hispreachering Son Shylla today finally announced his decision to quit ‘politics’ as he put to rest speculation that he would contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Shylla made the announcement after he was appointed as the full-fledged chief of the Ka Synjuk Ki Rangbah Kur Ka Bri U Hynniewtrep (SRKBH), a newly formed conglomerate body of the tribal clan elders, in its first general council meeting held in the city here on Saturday.
“I will no longer contest elections be it MDC, MLA or MP as I have decided not to go back to politics,” he told the gathering attended by elders of the different clans from Khasi and Jaiñtia Hills region.
