SIAL India 2024: A platform for Meghalaya’s food and beverage innovation
The vibrant food and beverage scene of Northeast India made a significant mark at SIAL India 2024, held from November 5-7 in New Delhi.
Organized by the Meghalaya Farmer’s Empowerment Commission (MFEC), the event showcased three millet-based startups and three innovative winemakers from Meghalaya, offering a taste of the region’s unique and diverse products to a global audience.
The participating winemakers included Dajied Shabong of Kynjai Winery, Pecindha K Sangma of ASAME Winery, Jeremy Foster Nongrum of Lah-Monte Winery.
Representing the millet-based startups were Bibhudutta Sahu of HQ Inspired, Suklin Dohling & Delina Rani of Marbin Food Processing, Waniaijop K Lynshing & Rimonlang Shylla of Mulieh Enterprise.
SIAL India, known as the country’s largest food innovation network, attracted industry professionals from across the globe.
The event provided an unparalleled platform for companies to showcase their innovations, connect with buyers, and explore business opportunities. This year’s edition featured exhibitors from more than 40 countries, enhancing its reputation for extensive B2B focus and dynamic Hosted Buyer Program.

The exposure visit was made possible through the collaborative efforts of NECTAR, InterAd Agency, and the MFEC. This initiative not only aimed at elevating the brand visibility of the Northeast-based companies but also at exploring collaboration opportunities and striking lucrative deals.
