Six dacoits arrested, Rs 13 lakh cash recovered in East Garo Hills
East Garo Hills Police has arrested six dacoits of a gang involved in looting one truck at Panda Reserve, South Garo Hills on Thursday.
Police said on received of information from South Garo Hills that some unknown miscreants had snatched away Rs 20 lakhs from one truck at Panda Reserve, South Garo Hills, using white colour Alto vehicle. East garo hills police control alerted all the OGC’s along the national highway.
Officer Incharge Rongmil, Dobu, Nengkra were directed to check vehicles and conduct strict naka duty and at around 10.45pm during checking Officer Incharge of Rongmil intercepted the suspected vehicle bearing R/No. AS01KC 0949 along with the occupants of the vehicle identified as (1) Shri Chapdul Ali s/o. Lt. Najir Husain r/o. Patpara po/ps Dudhnoi, Goalpara Assam, (2) Oku Ali, 24, s/o Lt. Mitu Ali r/o. Gohaipuri, PO. Matia Assam, (3) Shri Amir Hussain, 23 yrs S/o. Shri Subar Ali, R/O. Sidhabari, PO Matia, Assam, (4) Shri Balsrang K Sangma 25yrs S/o. Shri Karnesh Marak, R/o. Dobakkol Dainadubi, N/garo Hills, (5) Shri. Ewan R Marak 25 yrs, S/o. Lt. Doba G Momin, R/O. Chisim Apal, N/Garo Hills, (6) Shi Sailen G Momin 20 yrs, S/o. Lt. Nemorsing Sangma R/o. Bugakol Dainadubi, North Garo Hills.
On checking the vehicle, cash Rs 13 Lakhs 20 thousand five hundred and 6 mobile handsets were recovered from their possession. Accordingly seized the same in the presence of witnesses and kept at the OGC for completing formalities.
They are being handed over to team coming from South Garo Hills for further investigation.
