Meghalaya: Six villages declared as epicentres of African Swine Fever
The Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, AH & Veterinary Department on Friday informed that the Government has declared five district in Meghalaya as ‘epicenters’ of African Swine Fever disease.
He stated that “based on the test result of pig tissue samples dated 10.05.2023 regarding confirmation of African Swine Fever outbreak in Meghalaya by the North Eastern Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (NERDDL) Guwahati vide letter No AHC-107/NERDDL/ASF/ Result/2022-23/131, dated 10th May, 2023, the Government of Meghalaya has declared the villages of Gindo Pig Farm in West Garo Hills, Masighat in South Garo Hills, Syllei U Lar, Madan and Mawlyngkhung in Ri-Bhoi District and Tiehsaw in Nongstoin as ‘epicenters’ of African Swine Fever disease.”
