Six villages declared containment areas in Indo Bangladesh Border
The Sub-Divisional Officer (C) Amlarem Sub Division, Abhilash Baranwal, IAS in an order issued on Tuesday has declared six villages along Indo Bangladesh border as containment areas for detecting high risk contacts as to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the district.
The order prohibited unregulated entry and exit movement to the six villages from midnight of April 14.
The order said six villages has to be declared as containment areas due to detection of positive COVID-19 cases/high risks contacts in area under Shnongpdeng, Darrang, Kongwang, Lymba, Dawki and Bakur which required aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of general public against any possible spread of COVID-19.
“It is necessary to declare the Areas under Shnongpdeng, Darrang, Kongwang, Lymba, Dawki, Bakur, including the Entry Points, i.e. Dawki Amlarem Jowai road- Shnongpdeng, Dawki Boating Point and the Dawki PHC upto Tamabil Junction as Containment Area so as to restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site with the following measures for due compliance by public with effect from midnight of 14th April, 2021 and until further orders,” the order said.
The order states that no person shall be allowed to move into the Containment Area and inhabitant within the Containment Area shall not move out.
All the inhabitants within the Containment Area shall strictly remain inside their homes.
No gatherings, events, functions of any nature and form shall be allowed.
No Social, Political, Religious, Economic activities are allowed.
All shopping establishment of whatsoever nature shall be closed immediately. The availability of essential and medical requirements for purchase will be ensured through the Office of the Sub Divisional Officer (Supply), Amlarem.
All Government and Private institutions located within the boundary of the Containment Area are hereby closed forthwith until further orders.
All vehicles engaging in Border Trade with Bangladesh via the Land Customs Station, Tamabil shall continue to operate. However, the concerned Association/Owner is to strictly ensure that no vehicles are parked on the roadside in the Containment areas as specified above and all vehicles are to proceed to the Border without stopping mid-way.
The services of the Office of the Superintendent of Customs, Land Customs Station, Tamabil during the enforcement of this Order will be deemed an essential service.
All regular vehicles originating from outside of the Containment Areas as specified above and plying through the NH-40E are to do so without stopping mid-way in the Containment areas.
The Incident Commander which is the Sub Divisional Officer (C) shall be the Supervising Officer of the areas which are declared as Containment Area.
This Order will not apply to Health Workers, Officials of the Supply Branch of the Office of the Sub Divisional Officer (Supply) Amlarem, other Government officials/staff dealing with ensuring essential services, Press including Electronic and Print Media, Petrol Pumps and LPG delivery workforce.
Any violation of this Order shall entail prosecution under the penal provision of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC.
