Sonapur-Borghat Road to be finally constructed

The long pending demands for construction of Sonapur -Borghat Road along the Indo-Bangladesh border will finally materialize on November 16, next with the laying of the foundation stone by Deputy Chief Minister i/c PWD Prestone Tynsong at 11.30 am in Huroi Village, East Jaintia Hills District.

This was informed by Raja L Suchen the Secretary of the Joint Action Committee of Dorbar Shnong of Lejri Lahalein, Huroi and Hingaria Village. The road will connect many border villages particularly Lejri Lahalein Huroi and Hingaria. 

Suchen said that after years of demand and a court case in the High Court of Meghalaya, the dream of the people has been realised and will have a good road for the first time since Independence.
