SOP for reopening of religious places to be finalised soon
Chief Secretary, MS Rao on Monday convened a meeting of the sub-committee to revisit the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for reopening of religious places in the state.
After the meeting, Rao told reporters that the representatives of different religious organizations had requested for some minor changes in the SOPs issued earlier by the state government.
“We will examine that (request) and get back to them,” he said while adding that he will again convene a meeting after two-three days.
The chief secretary also informed that the SOP will be finalized within this week.
Asked, Rao said that the recent meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma had agreed to re-open the religious places by the first week of October.
“However, we will see the situation (related to COVID-19) in the last week of September and take a final call,” he added.
