South West Khasi Hills: No more COVID free
After staying infection free, South West Khasi Hills District has reported one fresh coronavirus positive case who is a returnee from Gujarat, Deputy Commissioner said on Monday.
This is the first case in South West Khasi Hills District.
“The person tested positive is a returnee from Gujarat, who reached South West Khasi Hills District on the 5th August 2020 via Byrnihat Checkpoint after completing all protocols of the Health Department,” Deputy Commissioner, South West Khasi Hills District Isawanda Laloo said.
Thereafter, he proceeded for home quarantine to his village in South West Khasi Hills. On the 7th August, 2020, he developed mild symptoms and was immediately shifted to the Corona Care Centre in Mawkyrwat. On the 8th August, 2020, his sample was taken for RT-PCR and his report has come out as Positive today, the 10th August, 2020, the Deputy Commissioner said.
The person’s condition is stable at present and he will continue to remain at the Corona Care Centre for the time being, said Isawanda who is the Chairman DDMA, South West Khasi Hills, Mawkyrwat.
