SP West Khasi Hills & Principal PTS promoted to IPS’s rank

President of India have appointed two member of Meghalaya Police Service (MPS) to the Indian Police Service (IPS) on probation for the period of one year as per rule of Indian Police Service.
The two member of MPS who was promoted to IPS is Herbert Garnett Lyngdoh, who is the Superintendent of Police, West Khasi Hills District and former Superintendent of Police West Jaintia Hills District.
The Other MPS officer who promoted to IPS is Mary Gnora T Sangma, Prinicpal of Police Training School, Meghalaya
According to the notification of Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. India, the President is pleased to appoint the member of Meghalaya Police Service to the Indian Police Service on probation and to allocate them to the Assam-Meghalaya Joint Cadre (Meghalaya Segment) Cadre under sub-rule (1) of the rule 5 of the Indian Police Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954.
Herbert and Mary will remain on probation for one year as per rule of Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954 and the officers will obtain induction training as per sub rule 5 (4) of Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954 as amended dated 10-05-2011.
