Speaker to invite Hills State volunteers for discussion on Meghalaya’s statehood journey
Commemorating Meghalaya’s 50th year of statehood, Women’s College’s in collaboration with Avenues Shillong organized the Meghalaya Entrepreneurship Conclave 2022 under the theme ‘Entrepreneurship and the road ahead – Meghalaya’s next 50.’

Speaking said that rural economy needs the support of micro-enterprises in all the livelihood opportunities and rural entrepreneurship can address many socio-economic challenges.
He also announced that as part of celebrations to commemorate the state’s 50 year anniversary, he will invite state movement volunteers for a discussion on Meghalaya’s statehood journey.
East Shillong MLA, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh lauded the Women’s college for holding a discussion on entrepreneurship, and expressed happiness that women in Meghalaya also excel as entrepreneurs.
She said that it was time for the state to engage with women – who are bread earners in many families – and equip them with the skill set and give them the recognition they deserve-
She also spoke of her dream to see more indigenous bureaucrats in the state, who can design policies and plans relevant to the state.
