SSA teachers threaten indefinite protest over pending salary
The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) has threatened to call for an indefinite protest from July 18, if the state government fail to clear their pending salary within July 15.
The decision was taken at a meeting held on June 25, MSSASA president Aristotle C Rymbai said on Sunday.
“We have decided to stage an indefinite protest from July 18 at the additional parking lot, if the government remain adamant attitude towards our demand to release our pending salaries within July 15,” he said.
He informed that the teachers have not received their salary for the past five months – which include February and March of 2021-22 and from April,May and June of 2022-23.
“We also demand the government to enhance the salary of over 12,451 SSA teachers in the state,” he added.
