St Edmund’s College awarded with District Green Certificate

East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo has awarded the District Green Certificate to St Edmund’s College for the academic year 2020-21 for successfully setting up and implementing the Swachhata Action PLan in the college under the initiative of the Mahatma Gandhi National Council For Rural Education.

Under the SAP, efforts are made to ensure that all college campuses in the district are in possession of clean and green campus surroundings and that they adopt best practices in sanitation, hygiene, waste water management and energy management.

“We applaud the efforts of St Edmunds college over the pass one year in setting up a model green campus and successfully implementing the Swachhata Action Plan. We call upon all educational institutions to play a role in helping build a clean and green district,” the DC said.
