Strike prohibited in Meghalaya Power Sector
The Meghalaya Power Department has prohibited strikes in essential services in order to prevent any disruption and breakdown of emergency services to the public.
The prohibitory order has been notified by Governor in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-Section (1) of Section 3 of the Meghalaya Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1980 (No.23 of 1980) read with the Meghalaya Essential Services Maintenance (Amendment) Act, 2003,
The Order shall come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for a period of six months.
