Student hit by a speeding scooty at Anton Hall, Laitumkhrah

A student from St Edmunds Higher Secondary school was injured after he was hit by an over-speeding scooty on Thursday at 10:55 am near Anton Hall, Laitumkhrah.

A CCTV footage captured the incident that showed 17 years old Edmund Marpan crossing the road only to be hit by an over-speeding scooty whose rider was 22 years old Eukratis Mylliempdah who is a BA first semester student.

As seen from the footage, Marpan was thrown some distance away and Mylliempdah too fell down.

Police sources informed that Marpan suffered right leg fractures and some head injury.

He was initially taken to the Woodland Hospital but his family members shifted him to Gauhati for further treatment. 

The matter is still under investigation.
