Students explore portraits, landscapes and still life at Fine Art Workshop in Jowai
A workshop on fine art was held today at Thomas Jones Synod College, Jowai, in collaboration with the Department of English and the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District.
Nine schools from across Jowai enthusiastically participated in the event.
The workshop was led by two experienced instructors, Herman Kupar Nongpluh and Carlos Andy Dkhar. They taught the students various basic techniques for creating portraits, landscapes, and still life artwork.
This workshop was a unique opportunity for the students to explore their artistic abilities, as they learned how to compose aesthetically pleasing pictures, incorporate perspective, depict light, and apply brush strokes effectively.
The chief guest at the event was FS Basan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District. He motivated students in attendance with words of encouragement and also urged them to diversify their learning during these new and challenging times.
Dr. DG. Lyngdoh, the Principal of the college, also delivered a speech, sharing words of encouragement and support for the aspiring artists.
