Students taught on Tuberculosis and its cure
As part of World Health Day, the office of The State Tuberculosis Officer, Meghalaya has organised an awareness programme for students on the impact of Tuberculosis at Brookside Higher Secondary School, Shillong on Friday.
The programme was started with an introductory note from Bornali Nongrum, State Nikshya Operator introducing about World Health Day.
Dr. Amica Rynjah, Assistant Programme Officer cum DR-TB Coordinator, who is the Resource Person encouraged students to focus on the identification of signs and symptoms of Tuberculosis and elaborating on the treatment procedures of TB, she also stressed that everyone should come together to learn about the disease and disseminate information to the community so that we can end TB by 2025 as per nation objectives in eliminating TB.
To enhance the knowledge of the students, a quiz competition was also conducted by Tracy Kharkamni, State Coordinator, followed by pledging on elimination of Tuberculosis by the students and end up with a vote of thanks by Vanessa Majaw, Bachelor of Social Work student, Women’s College.
