Students will perform well in the SSLC exams: Education Minister
Education Minister Rakkam Sangma on Monday expressed confidence that the students will perform well in the ongoing Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations following the various initiatives taken by the government.
“We expect to perform better this time as we have initiated certain programmes to encourage and motivate the students,” Sangma told reporters.
Extending his best wishes to all students appearing for their SSLC and HSSLC examinations, the education minister said, “This year about 64,387 appearing SSLC examination 2025 and 29773 students appear for the HSSLC. Therefore, I would like to send my best wishes and prayers to each one of them that they should excel and perform well.”
“In the previous years, the overall performance of the SSLC was not up to the mark. However, we encourage and urge our schools and students to do better and it is my request to all students to forget everything. Leave everything aside. Be it mobile games, television and many entertainment programmes, they should study and perform as this is a very important moment that will change their lives forever.”
Asked, Sangma said that city schools are performing well and the problem is with the rural areas adding “We are expecting to do better with all these initiatives and we are really motivating them.”
With the commencement of this year’s academic session, the minister said, “We have already instructed the DCs, DSEOs to inspect and visit schools as there are many without teachers. Reach out to the schools and encourage them. We request all officers to reach out to all schools by visiting sometimes and give them encouragement and motivation. That will be really a game changer for them.”
