Sub-committee to submit report to HLC on Sweeper’s Colony issue: Dohling
SHILLONG: A sub-committee headed by urban affairs minister Hamletson Dohling has decided to submit its report to the High Level Committee constituted by the state government to find a feasible solution for relocation of the Sweeper’s Colony from Them Iew Mawlong.
Informing this here on Wednesday, Dohling told reporters that the sub-committee was constituted by the HLC to hold consultation with the Hima Mylliem, Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and the state government on certain important issues which needs to be iron out.
“I have completed the exercise and I will be submitting the report of sub-committee before the HLC headed by the deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong in its next meeting, which will be held very soon,” the minister said.
Dohling said the HLC will accordingly examine the recommendations made by the sub-committee in its report.
“Once this is done, we also hope that the HLC will be able to speed up in submitting its report to the state government,” he added.
Asked, the minister however refused to divulge further details on the report and said, “I cannot give any details until the report is being placed before the HLC.”
