Sudden spike of Coronavirus in Jowai as 31 tested positive

In an alarming state of affairs, 34 persons were tested Covid 19 persons out of the total 60 persons tested on 31/10/2020 in West Jaintia Hills District.

The breakup of the new covid 19 cases are Ladthalaboh 13, Moosalangkat 8, Lumpariat 2, Caroline Colony 3 and Mission Compound 5, Nongkynrih village 2 and Nangbah village 1.

The district covid management team were compelled to conduct contact tracing due to the sudden spike of covid 19 cases in the four localities of jowai town viz Ladthadlaboh, Caroline Colony, Moosalyngkat and Lumpariat and Mission Compound.

The District Magistrate West Jaintia hills has already put the four localities under containment zone since Friday last and it will continue for few more days to contain the spread of the pandemic.

West Jaintia Hills has total 70 COVID-19 active cases.
