SUSCON XI concludes successfully at IIM Shillong
The 11th edition of the International Sustainability Conference (SUSCON-XI) at IIM Shillong, themed “Climate Positive World,” concluded on November 23. The event was supported by GAIL India Ltd, Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, IIMS Journal of Management Science, and Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics (Finland).
Over 301 submissions were received, with 118 papers selected, showcasing global research on sustainability.
The Chief Guest, Shyam Sundar Paliwal (Padma Shri), shared his impactful Piplantri initiative, where 111 trees are planted for every girl born in the village, fostering environmental conservation and girl-child education. In his keynote address, Prabodha Acharya, Chief Sustainability Officer at JSW Group, highlighted key sustainability challenges such as nature, inequality, and diversity, urging businesses to adopt sustainable practices.
SUSCON XI has solidified IIM Shillong’s role as a hub for thought leadership in sustainability, uniting participants from academia, industry, government, and civil society. The conference continues to inspire and drive global initiatives towards a climate-positive future.
