Suspected case of Corona reported in NEIGRIHMS
In alarming state of affairs, the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) Hospital, Shillong has reported one suspected case of Corona Virus COVID-19 on 8th March, 2020.
The case was reported in the dermatology ward and is a male patient aged 38 years and it was referred for blood test by Dr. PK Bhattacharya and he has been admitted in the Isolation Ward of the Hospital.
The blood test will be send to National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases, Kolkata for confirmation whether the sample is Corona Virus or not.
It may be reminded here that several organizations urging the State Government to call it off the Meghalayan Age in view of the COVID- 19 contagion spreading across the globe.

The BJP MDC of JHADC, the Jaintia Youth Federation, Hynniewtrep Students Union, Jaintia Students Union demanded the cancellation of the Festival in view of the Corona Virus or COVID-19.
However, the Meghalaya Government decided to go ahead with the Festival by scaling down the Festival to media conference of the invitees and there will be no mass gathering as planned earlier.

The festival was inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Sunday in the presence of Transport Minister Sniawbha Dhar, Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla amongst other.
