Teenage girl lost battle of life after two days in contact with live wire in Madantring
Two days after she came in contact with a live wire, a teenage succumbed to her injuries on Thursday’s morning at Supercare Hospital, Demthring, Shillong.
Yoobhaika Syiem a resident of Pdengshnong Madanrting and other women were washing clothes in a local water sources called umshangiar in Madanrting, Shillong on Tuesday afternoon.
A loose live wire fell in the water source and everybody presence there were contracted by the impact of the live wire. The wire was connected to a water pump but got disconnected due to strong wind on Monday or Tuesday morning.
Most of the women presence there managed to escape with little impact from the live wire but Syiem suffered huge impact from the live wire and could be taken out only after power supplies were cut off.
Syiem was in bad condition with foam coming out from her mouth and was rushed to Supercare Hospital.
The doctors on duty admitted her to ICU ward and did all they could to save her but after battling for two days, Syiem gave up and breathed her last.
