Tendering process for package-1 of Shillong-Dawki road to be finalized soon

Deputy Chief Minister in-charge PWD (Road) Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday informed that tendering process for the package-1 of the Shillong-Dawki road project will soon be finalised.

“Retendering process is on and very soon the package-1 will be finalized to whomever the successful bidder is concerned,” Tynsong told reporters.

When asked, the deputy CM said as far as the stretch from Rilbong to Upper Shillong is concerned it is the responsibility of the NHIDCL to follow up with the defense authority because that land falls under the defense land.

“From Delhi they have decided to part the land to the NHIDCL for construction of a four lane road over there,” he said.

“Right now as far as the state government is concerned we have already handed over all the lands to NHIDCL except those portions which fall under defense land,” he added.
