Tenure for food grains wholesaler & fair price shop dealers increased in Meghalaya
In a major relief to food grain wholesalers and fair price dealers, the Meghalaya Government on Tuesday decided to increase the tenure of wholesaler from 1 year to 2 years and for fair price shop dealers to 3 years.
This was informed by Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui after the MDA’s cabinet meeting.

He also said that the tenure was increased as the cabinet approved Meghalaya Foodgrain/SK Oil Public Distribution System Control Order, 2022.
The Home Minister informed that the cabinet has also approved the amendment of the Meghalaya State Consumer Protection, Salary Allowance and Condition of Service of President and Members of State and District Commission Rules, 2021.

“This is being taken up to see that there is a pay parity (among) these members,” he added.

The cabinet has also discussed on the Governor’s Address for the upcoming Assembly’s budget session, slated from March 4. The meeting also approved the Meghalaya Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Zilla Sainik Welfare Amry and Navy Service Rules, 2020 and others.
