The hills are alive with excitement as The Hills Festival – The Spirit of Meghalaya returns for its fifth season, bringing an extraordinary blend of music, art, culture, and cuisine to the heart of Northeast India. Taking place on December 6-7, 2024, at Umiam Lake, this much-anticipated festival, supported by Meghalaya Tourism, promises to be an unforgettable weekend.

The festival will offer an eclectic mix of performances with two stages. The Hills Live Stage will feature acoustic, folk, and band performances set against the peaceful backdrop of Umiam Lake, while the Electric Hills Stage will showcase high-energy beats and experimental sounds that will keep the dancefloor alive well into the night.
The lineup includes Mumbai-based rapper Yashraj, known for his hits like Dhundhala and Ishq Nachaawe; progressive metal band I Built The Sky, led by Melbourne-based guitarist Ro Han; Khasi folk band Mookhuri, which showcases Meghalaya’s rich traditions; Samoan-Indian artist Tiana Khasi, who blends R&B, jazz, and contemporary sounds; London-based producer Robu, delivering heavy drops and bouncy beats; Nigerian-Indian rapper Yung Sammy, mixing Afro and Desi vibes; and many more.
Food lovers are in for a treat at The Forage Aisle, an experience that transforms Meghalaya’s wild edibles and traditional flavors into innovative dishes. Guided by Chef Nambie Jessica Marak, Ridalang Tariang, and Team Roma Eatery, this culinary journey offers a modern twist on local cuisine.
For a broader gastronomic adventure, the SUNRISE HILLSFEAST will feature over 20 local food entrepreneurs showcasing Meghalaya’s celebrated flavors. This feast will offer a variety of traditional and modern interpretations of the region’s dishes, making it an unmissable experience for food enthusiasts.
The festival is more than just music and food. Artistic installations will transform the 43-acre venue into a vibrant space where creativity and nature converge. These immersive art displays will captivate attendees and blend seamlessly with the region’s natural beauty.
