Total curfew extended in East Khasi Hills

In view of the continuous sharp spike in COVID-19 cases in East Khasi Hills District, and hospital bed occupancy nearing saturation, Isawanda Laloo, IAS, District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District on Wednesday has extended total curfew in entire District from 8:00 PM of the 19^th of May, 2021 till 5:00 AM of the 31^st of May, 2021.

This is in exercise of the powers conferred upon her under section 144 Cr. P.C. read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID–19 Regulations, 2020, Laloo prohibited Inter-District Movement of person from and to East Khasi Hills District.

No person is to step out without valid reasons. Vehicles plying without passes will be liable for strict penalties. Any one in defiance of orders is liable for arrest.

In-situ constructions permitted vide earlier orders stands cancelled.

Exemptions:

Health services including Vaccination. Person(s) moving for vaccination should be able to produce proof of COWIN registration and slot booking. 2. Medicines and Pharmaceuticals

Movement of essential goods.

Movement for medical emergencies.

Persons travelling on Essential Government duty viz.

Medical Teams and officials on COVID-19 Duty.

Police, Security and Armed Forces

Civil Defence and Home Guards.

Fire & Emergency Services.

Electricity.

Water Supply.

Municipal Services.

Public Distribution System.

Information and Public Relations.

Telecommunication services.

Print & Electronic Media.

Central Government offices as notified by Home (Political) Department vide Notification No.POL.117/2020/Pt.VII/225 dated 18.05.2021 and State Government offices as notified by Personnel & A.R (A) Department vide Notification No.PER.62/2020/54, dated 18.05.2021.

State Bank of India, Main Branch and Laitumkhrah Branch.

Home delivery services only for food/food products, dry ration, meat, vegetables and toiletries will be regulated via separate order. All passes issued earlier for home delivery will be valid only till 19.05.2021.

Funeral gatherings, but should be restricted to 10 persons only, with prior permission.

All passes for activities not permitted will be revoked with effect from 8:00 PM of the 19^th May, 2021.
