Traffic Arrangements for Behdienkhlam Festival in Jowai

The Superintendent of Police, West Jaintia Hills, Jowai, has announced the following traffic arrangements to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the Behdienkhlam Festival from June 30 to July 4 in Jowai.

2nd July 2024

No Entry:

9:00 AM to 11:30 AM:

Loomsooiung (New Hill) → Iawmusiang area → H.K Singh → Chutwakhu → Khliehchnong → Chiliangraij.

12:00 Noon to 4:30 PM:

Loomsooiung (New Hill) → Iawmusiang area → Stand War → Mynthong Road (District Library).

Mission Compound → Longpiah Road.

No Parking Zone:

Iawmusiang Area.

Stand War.

Mission Compound Road.

Longpiah Road.

3rd July 2024

One Way:

D.C Point → Mission Compound (CHC-Point) → Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn) → Chiliang Raij → Umshangiar.

Chiliang Raij (Ummakah Road/Aitnar Jn) → Chutwakhu Locality → Jrisalaiń Junction.

Mission Compound Road → Tpeppale.

Mission Compound Road → Longpiah Road → Dulong (Kdohhati).

Loomïongkjam Jn → Iongpiah Road → Dulong (Kdohhati).

No Entry:

Jrisalein Junction → Chutwakhu Road → Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn).

Riat Longpiah → Aitnar.

Loomïongkjam Jn → Aitnar.

Umshangiar Jn (Khimusniang) → Chiliang Raj Road → Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn).

Iongpiah Road → Panaliar (Old Civil Road).

Dulong → Iongpiah Internal Road.

Dulong (Kdohhati) → Iongpiah Road.

One-Side Parking:

Chiliang Raij Road → Umshangiar Road (Reserved for VIPs only).

Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn) → Chutwakhu Road → Jrisalein Jn (Only for vehicles with a pass).

Mission Compound (CHC Point) → Iongpiah Road near Church of God (Only for vehicles with a pass).

No Vehicle Zone:

Aitnar Area.

Parking Lots:

Jrisalein Ground (For Medium and Heavy Vehicles).

Parking lots (stands) under Iawmusiang Area.

Near Thomas Jones Synod College (One-side Parking Only).

Wahgate Area (One-side parking for LMVs only).

No Parking Zone:

DC junction → SP junction → War Taxi Stand → Mynthong Road.

DC Junction → District Council/lawshyiap Zone → HK Singh Tri-Junction → Jrisaleiň Junction.

Wahnangbah Junction → Tpeppale Locality.

DC Point → Mission Compound Road → Chiliang Raij (Ummakah/Aitnar Jn).

Note: There will be staggering of vehicles on June 30 and July 1, 2024, from Riatturiem area to New Hill Police Point on NH-44 during the movement of the “Symbood Khnong, Dienkhlam, and Khnong Blai”.
