Transgender arrested for stabbing youth at Khyndailad

A 24-year-old transgender was arrested and forwarded to court on Friday for stabbing a youth at Khyndailad area.

Zecharaiah Sohthiang (25) was stabbed on the night of March 18. An FIR was registered with the Sadar police station.

East Khasi Hills superintendent of police Sylvester Nongtnger informed that the prime suspect, a transgender involved in the said case has been identified and apprehended at Khyndailad, Police Bazar on Thursday evening.

He said that the pen knife used in the commission of the offence was also recovered and seized. The accused person has been arrested and produced before Court today, he added.
