Two arrested in Jowai: 5.1 gms of heroin and cash seized

In a swift operation, the Jowai Police Station team apprehended two persons on September 18 for their suspected involvement in illegal activities.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sdangki Myrphet (35) and Wandao Bareh (42), both residents of Panaliar, Jowai.

According to the police, the duo was noticed moving suspiciously during a routine patrol by the Jowai PS team at around 7:30 pm near Thomas Jones College. During questioning, it was suspected that they were involved in selling contraband substances.

A thorough search of their possessions revealed 5.1 grams of heroin and cash amounting to Rs. 31,730.

Necessary legal formalities are being observed, and further action is underway.
