Two IEDs seized in West Garo Hills, CM lauds police
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has lauded the state police for successfully thwarting an attempt to plant IED explosion in Garo Hills.
Two live IEDs along with other explosives and detonators buried underground were recovered from Mengotchigre village under Tikrikilla police station on Friday morning during a joint counter-insurgency operation conducted by West Garo Hills district police & 120 BN CRPF. The IEDs were immediately disposed of.
When asked, Sangma said, “As part of our operation to ensure that we keep a track and control and ensure the people of the state are safe many operations and many such searches are going on based on information and intel collected from almost all the districts.”
“I must congratulate the team of West Garo Hills district who have been working very hard to ensure security and safety of the people is maintained. This is part of that exercise and it was retrieved,” he said.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered and investigation is on to nab the culprits.
