Two more die of COVID-19 in Meghalaya
The state on Monday recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,452 in the state.
According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, each case was reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Jaintia Hills district.
Dr War said the state has also detected 58 new COVID-19 cases. These include 50 in East Khasi Hills, 5 West Khasi Hills and 1 each in East Jaintia Hills, North Garo Hills and West Garo Hills.
Dr War also informed that 61 persons have recovered from the viral infection.
Of these, 50 are from East Khasi Hills, 6 West Khasi Hills, 3 Ri Bhoi and 1 each in East Jaintia Hills and West Garo Hills.
So far, the state has detected a total of 83,685 COVID-19 cases out of which 426 are active cases, 81,807 recovered and 1,452 deaths.
East Khas Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 with 283 followed by West Khasi Hills with 55 cases and West Jaintia Hills 27.
There are 21 in Ri Bhoi, 13 West Garo Hills, 10 East Garo Hills, 6 South West Khasi Hills, 4 East Jaintia Hills, 4 North Garo Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.
