Two quakes hit Manipur, felt in Assam and Meghalaya
Two tremors struck Manipur, with shaking felt in parts of Meghalaya and Assam on January 22.
The first tremor had a magnitude of 4.3 and occurred at 20:57:46 IST in the Pherzawl region. The second, with a magnitude of 3.3, hit the Churachandpur region at 21:46:30 IST.
According to The National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the epicenters were located at 24.61°N latitude and 93.14°E longitude for the first tremor, and 24.37°N latitude and 93.56°E longitude for the second tremor.
Residents in Meghalaya and Assam reported feeling the ground shake, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
