Two youths killed in road mishap in Ri Bhoi District

In a tragic incident, two youths were killed when the vehicle in which they travelled dashed the rear end of an unknown truck in the National Highway 06 along Ri Bhoi District on April 7.

Police said at around 12: 05 am, one Maruti Alto 800 car bearing registration number ML05 R 8598 coming from Shillong while proceeding towards Guwahati side dashed the rear end of one unknown Truck on NH-06 Umlyngkdait, Ri-Bhoi District. The involved truck fled away from the spot as soon as the accident occurred.

Police said that the car was driven by Robi Paswan (30 yrs) from Lumparing, East Khasi Hills, Shillong while Prakash, 26 yrs from Bangalore, Karnataka travelled along with him

Due to the impact of the accident, the Maruti Alto 800 was badly damaged and both the driver and the said occupant died on the spot.

Police said all legal formalities were observed at the spot and both bodies were shifted by Unit Gypsy to Emergency Room of Civil Hospital Nongpoh and later kept at Civil Nongpoh Morque Room and the said Alto 800 was towed to Nongpoh PS service road for safe custody and for taking further necessary action.
