Tynsong slams Opp leader for playing politics over gaming act
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Thursday slammed the opposition for trying to play political games over the issue concerning the Meghalaya State Regulation of Gaming Act, 2021.
He was reacting to the statement made by the Leader of Opposition Mukul Sangma that the National People’s Party (NPP)-led MDA government should not brand the state based on activities that will suit the greed of some politicians by implementing such a law.
“Why didn’t he (Mukul) scrap it (gaming act). He was there as chief minister for 8 years. He should have done it. Now why you realize this, is it because of your political game. That is what I am saying, this is not fair. When you are in the opposition, you talk so irresponsibly and when you are in the ruling as if everything is well and everything is fine. When you talk, talk about yourself first and ask yourself,” Tynsong told reporters.
The deputy chief minister said in fact, the Act was already there for not less than 30 years and the state government is only bringing the rules and the regulations on the basis of the Act.
