UDP recommends Moonlight, Nujorki & Dawan to State leadership

Gearing up for the Assembly Elections which is eight months away, the District Election Committee of the United Democratic Party (UDP), West Jaintia Hills District on Monday decided to recommend the candidatures from three Assembly Constituencies in the district.

This was informed to media persons after the meeting by Secretary, District Election Committee GM Lamar at GHM Guest House, Jowai.

Lamar informed that the Committee received the name of Moonlight Pariat as forwarded by UDP Jowai Circle while from UDP Mowkaïaw Circle forwarded the name of sitting MLA Nujorki Sungoh and UDP Nartiang Circle forwarded candidature of Dawan Lyngdoh MDC.

The UDP leader said that the District Election Committee will recommend the three names to the State Election Committee as per provision of the party constitution.

The two constituencies namely Amlarem and Raliang have not forwarded any name till date, he added.

UDP West Jaintia Hills Advisor Michael Sayoo said that the party are putting all out efforts in all seven constituencies in Jaintia Hills region and this time they will perform better than they did in 2018.
