UDP resolves to strengthen party organization ahead of 2023 elections
The United Democratic Party (UDP) has resolved to strengthen the party organization as part of its preparation for 2023 and the upcoming elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).
After chairing the central executive committee (CEC) meeting on Friday, UDP chief and Assembly Speaker, Metbah Lyngdoh said, “We have decided to strengthen the party organization and ensure we get many MLAs in the 2023 Assembly elections.”
Lyngdoh also announced the party’s decision to field candidates for the GHADC elections, the dates of which are yet to be announced as the Council is under the administrator’s rule.
“We cannot say how many candidates will be fielded as the matter has been entrusted on a team (from Garo Hills) to examine,” he said.
