UDP to examine replies of two MDCs

SHILLONG: The two MDCs of the United Democratic Party (UDP) on Wednesday responded to the showcause notices issued by the party following their decision to support the United Democratic Front (UDF)-led executive committee in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).

“We are happy that they (MDCs – Paul Lyngdoh and Teiborlang Pathaw) have responded positively within 24 hours,” general secretary of the party Jemino Mawthoh said.

He said the reply by the two MDCs will be placed before a meeting, which will be held tomorrow or day after tomorrow.

“We will sit and examine their response and accordingly decide what is best,” Mawthoh adding if need be the party will also call them to hear their views on the matter.
