UDP to soon take a call on Lambor’s support to NPP-led EC
The United Democratic Party (UDP) will soon take a decision in regards to the recent decision of Nongkrem MDC Lambor Malngiang to extend support to the NPP-led EC in KHADC.
“I have just sent a letter to the party. Maybe after the festival, they will sit to decide (on the matter),” UDP PP leader in KHADC Titosstarwell Chyne told reporters on Friday.
The parliamentary party meeting of the UDP had urged the party to take disciplinary action against Malngiang for anti-party activity by supporting the NPP-led EC.
To a question, Chyne said that he is not aware that more MDCs are going to support the present EC.

“There are 8 MDCs of the UDP. I have not heard anything (that they will also support the NPP-led EC). Similarly, I have not heard that there is any move by the HSPDP MDC Martle Mukhim, who is also co-chairman of RDA, to come out and support the present EC,” he said while adding that the independent Nongthymmai MDC Latiplang Kharkongor is still very much part of the opposition bench.
He said UDP MDC Balajied Ranee was very firm in supporting the Lineage Amendment Bill because he was very vocal on the issue relating to the practice of Shaw Bhoi. “He (Ranee) was supporting the Bill not the EC,” he said.
“However, you can ask Balajied whether he has any intention to join other parties,” he added.
