UDP to soon take up issues including railway line with govt
The United Democratic Party (UDP) has decided to aggressively take up important issues concerning the people and the state.
The decision was taken at an emergent meeting held on Thursday.
UDP general secretary and former MLA from Nongthymmai, Jemino Mawthoh said the meeting has deliberated at length on the three important issues which related to the recent incidents at Langpih and other areas pertaining to boundary issues, contentious railway line and inclusion of Khasi language in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.
He informed the party has decided to call a meeting with its Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) partner, the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) tomorrow, to jointly take up the matter with the state government.
“We have decided to aggressively pursue these issues with the government,” Mawthoh said.
