UDP West Jaintia Hills submit names of 3 candidates for SEC approval
The United Democratic Party (UDP) West Jaintia Hills District on Thursday recommended three names as candidates of the party for the upcoming 2023 assembly elections in the state.
These include former JHADC chief Moonlight Pariat, who is also president of the UDP WJH, as candidate from Jowai constituency, Mynsngat-Khanduli MDC Dawan Lyngdoh from Nartiang constituency and sitting Mookaiaw MLA Nujorki Sungoh.
The list was handed over to UDP general secretary Jemino Mawthoh at his residence here.

West Jaintia Hills has five constituencies. The party has decided to soon submit the second list which pertains to the other two constituencies – Amlarem which is represented by Lahkmen Rymbui and Raliang.
Mawthoh said the party has entrusted the district leaders to recommend the names of the candidates from these two constituencies. He informed that the names will be submitted to the State Election Committee for its approval.
