Umdeinlin is the correct spelling of our village: Dorbar Shnong

Umdeinlin is the correct spelling of their village under Laskein C&RD Block and duly recognized by the Election Commission of India, according to Umdeinlin Dorbar Chnong.

In an official communique issued by the Waheh Chnong of Umdeinlin Nangaibormi Sutnga said the village is under Elaka Raliang and under Raliang Assembly Constituency, West Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya.

“The correct and actual name of the village is “Umdeinlin” village, the same which had been reflected in records of the Election Commission, Office of the Elaka Raliang, etc. however, it had come to the village Dorbar notice that some government departments and other office including your office had recorded and reflected the village name as “Umdienglieng” this may be due to inadvertence on the part of the villagers when filling for obtaining documents from your office and also due to inadvertence of the previous village Headman.,” Nangaibormi said.

The dorbar shnong has urged the district administration to take appropriate and necessary steps for correction of the village name from “Umdienglieng” to “Umdeinlin”.

The copy has been send to Block Development Officer, Laskein C&RD and Administration Officer, JHADC for necessary action.
