However, in face saving exercise for the party and its candidate Shemphang Lyngdoh substituting Lamare, the NPP led MDA govt decided to construct the Mawhati Jagiroad in the fag end of the present MLA tenure.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma laid foundation stone for the construction of Umsning-Mawhati to Jagiroad on Wednesday.

The blacktopping of this road was undertaken during Late P A Sangma’s tenure as Chief Minister.
Sangma said, “I’m glad to take this project up during my tenure & to complete what he started.”
