Union Finance MoS and wife visited Krangshuri Falls
Union Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary on Saturday visited Jowai and review the Centrally Sponsored Schemes implemented in the district by various line departments.
Pankaj was accompanied by his Personal Secretary, Kumar Ravikant Singh (IAS) and the first PA to the Minister, Dhruv Narayan Shrivastav.
Commissioner & Secretary, to the Govt of Meghalaya, Dr Joram Beda (IAS) with the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District, BS Sohliya (IAS) along with the Additional Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners received and welcomed the Minister and his entourage. During the review of the centrally sponsored schemes, chaired by the Minister, interactions and discussions took place and he was satisfied with the overall progress and implementation of the schemes in the district.
The Minister visited an anganwadi centre at Moopyllaitsyiar village, where he interacted with the District Programme Officer, Child Development Project Officer and the Anganwadi worker.
Pankaj Chaudhary then went to visit Krangshuri Falls where he received a traditional welcome and interacted with the representatives of Ladjaplem village and the tour operator of the site. Enroute to the falls, he stopped at Demthring village for a moment to witness a flock of rare migratory Himalayan griffon vultures which are currently roosting in the area. In Krangsuri Falls, the Minister was accompanied by his spouse, Bhagya Shree Chaudhary.
