Union MoS Nimuben Bambhaniya reviews key development projects in Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi district
Reinforcing the Central government’s commitment to regional development, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben J. Bambhaniya, visited Meghalaya’s Ri Bhoi district on Tuesday to assess the progress of various government initiatives.
During her visit, Bambhaniya held a review meeting with state officials at the Ri-Bhoi Deputy Commissioner’s office, discussing the implementation of key welfare schemes and gathering feedback to enhance their effectiveness.
She later toured a pineapple processing unit in Umling Block, engaging with farmers on ways to boost agricultural productivity and income through improved processing techniques. At the Lay-By market in Dulongnar, she interacted with local traders, farmers, and entrepreneurs, emphasizing the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ initiative to strengthen the local economy.
Bambhaniya also inspected rural development efforts under the MGNREGA scheme in Erapkan, Umling Block, where she spoke with workers about their experiences and challenges. Additionally, she reviewed the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission project in Kynñon, ensuring the availability of clean drinking water for every household and discussing its impact with residents.
