Uphold constitutional values, ensure inclusive governance: CBCI to NDA Govt
Expressing its heartfelt satisfaction with the successful conclusion of the 18th Lok Sabha elections, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI) on Tuesday said this significant event highlights the strength and vibrancy of India’s democratic ethos and the unwavering adherence to the values enshrined in the Constitution of India.
“We congratulate Narendra Modi on his swearing-in as the Prime Minister of India for the third time. With this significant mandate comes an equally significant responsibility to uphold the democratic values and address the diverse needs of our great nation,” CBCI said in a statement here.
“The CBCI emphasized the importance of respecting and safeguarding the Constitution of India, which is the cornerstone of our democracy. We appeal to the NDA government to work diligently towards upholding constitutional values, ensuring justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity for all citizens,” the CBCI said.
“It is imperative that the government remains inclusive, transparent, and committed to the welfare of all sections of society, particularly the marginalized and vulnerable. We trust that under Narendra Modi’s leadership, the government will remain committed to these fundamental principles,” it said.
The CBCI also acknowledges the spirited participation of all political parties and their candidates in this democratic process. We extend our congratulations to those elected to the 18th Lok Sabha, regardless of party affiliation. You must serve as the effective voice of the people, raising their concerns and aspirations within the legislative framework,” it also said.
“We look forward to a government that is dedicated to the progress and development of India, working harmoniously towards the collective good of the nation. May the elected leaders be guided by wisdom and compassion as they embark on this journey of governance,” it added.
